+ Custodes in Plastic: Squad Deux +

Hello Intertubez,

Just a little show and tell to show the progress on squad deux. These guys are the push up close incinerator squad who will be the tip of the spearhead (the most sensitive part) and will ride in a Rhino so they can open up dual incinerators out of the hatch if need be.

Since the incinerators are free for purifiers this squad is the cheapy of the troops choices so I threw in the hammer and falchions, not only to make some other weapons model-wise besides guardian spears but to give this squad the extra close-combat flippy-ness and punch I want them to have.

Again with the heavy/special weapons I wanted to go with the elongated design seen in the terminator Custodes art. Although I like the incinerator 'head' so much I didn't want to put a dragon head on there even though I probably should have but I think it works. There is also another incinerator dude who is kneeling but I sole him from my dark angels army and he wasn't photographing too well so he'll show up when I post all the group shots in the near future.

Here is the falchion buddy, if he looks familiar it's because it's part of the lack Reach Captain. I decided to only give him one little sword and one regular sized one because I think it looks pretty cool and to just mix it up a bit.

anyways comments and feedback are always welcome and I will post a revised list up again soon taking into account what models I have, want to buy and the input from last post about my v.1.0 list. Thanks for taking some Buddy Times.

+ 1750 Custodes (Purifiers list) +

Alright everyone here is the list I am working towards for my Custodes army. I would like some feedback from any of the more game oriented players out there as I tend to more the hobby/fluff side of things.

It is a purifiers list but I also threw in a squad of interceptors, so I could make Custodes 'jet-bikes' as well as squad of terminators, which I have not started on yet, and a dreadnought. This way I feel I have a semi-competitve tourney list but also am rocking out all of the variations on the Custodes that I have seen in the art that represents them. Like the image above: the jet-bikers on the left without powered armour, the termies in the middle and the 'regular' Custodes on the right

a little sneak peek of the jet-bikers, more soon

Onto the list, 1750:
+Crowe 150

+Librarian 180 maybe 215
summoning
Might of titan
Quicksilver

+Techmarine 110
Conversion beamer

+Vindicare 145

+Interceptor squad 150
Hammer
Psi-cannon

+Purifiers(x6) 175
Psi-cannon x2
Hammer
Halberd x2
+Razorback 50
Psi-bolt

+Purifiers(x6) 175
Psi-cannon x2
Hammer
Halberd x2
+Razorback 50
Psi-bolt

+Purifiers(x6) 158
Incinerators x2
Halberds x2
Falchions
Hammer
+Rhino 45
Warp feild

+Terminator squad 225
Psycannon

+Dreadnought 135
Autocannon (can be psyfleman or not)
Psi-bolt ammo

Again any feedback would be great and thanks for stopping by for some Buddy Times.

+Freaky Freaky APC+ Psyker Muties needed a ride

Hello,

Just wanted to throw up some pics of my Psyker Mutie's ride, the Prison style Chimera. I wanted hte inside to have a cannabilistic mutants are trapped in there feel. During the painting process I'm really going to push my weathering and layering skills on this one.

Having worked mainly on STC rhino and LR hulls the Chimera's interior is not sculpted but is very large and easily visible with the rear hatch open, so there's alot of real estate to work with in there.

I wanted the top hatch and possibly the rear door to have bars over them instead of the standard hatch to show off the freaky interior more even when the tank is all closed up.

Here you're getting the first glimpse of the inside, I thought a little meat for the freaks was appropriate so there's a Kroot leg o' man hanging in there from the ceiling, and I'll probably add more things to the ceiling, possibly a light hanging from a chain or whatnot.

I had this weird lizadman skull thing laying around and I thought it seemed like some heretical mutant psyker stuff and fit the vibe of what I was going for. There are also some chains and a little altar/shrine thingy in the rear as well as scattered mutant lunch remnants (bones and skulls).

So again please feel free to comment and tell me if it looks like you think it should, or not

Cheers,
Hashshashin

+Heads Up! = Forge World is at it again

Hey all,

Just a quick news flash from the road, Forge World is at it again with all the Mareenz upgrade paks, and man are they pretty dern cool looking. I was a pretty big fan of the Umbra Ferroxpattern bolters but I got to say these new Phobos Pattern ones are even cooler in my opinion. They really seem like a fusion of some of the older models from the Rogue Trader and 2nd ed. days with some of the more modern 'realistic' designs.

Also Mk V [see above], and the much loved 'Beakies' MK VI

Well, I'm still in VA and just realized the NOVA Open is only like 30 minutes from where I am, so I'm going to try to talk the lady into stopping by there on our way up to D.C. So if the Warboss permits there will be a field report in the next day or so.

Cheers,
Hashshashin

+Blood Smokers: Pics and List+

Blood Priest leads the charge!

Hello all y'all tube heads,

I'm on the road right now but me and the family just drove from Colorado to Virgina, so I'm a bit tired. But I didn't get a chance to post yesterday so I'm gonna throw up something for you guys. Here's the basic list for my Blood Smokers Legion of Khorne, which uses the Blood Angels Codex to supply its rules, but uses Khorne Berserkers and Chaos Marines to supply the models, cheesy? I don't think so because its still either solidly 'counts as' or is clearly WYSIWYG.

So here's some pics:

Family portrait

'ere's a shot of the Baal Pred with some basic weathering

It's....... Spikey!

+Blood of Skulls: Tournament debrief+

Hello Intertubez,

Yesterday was a small 1850 tournament at one of the FLGS in the area so John Henry and myself cruised by to see what we could get into. I brought my Blood Smoker Legion of Khorne and John Henry feilded his 4th company Ultramarines. I will post my list and pics of the Army sooncome. But all in the all the event was quite nice and much fun was had by most, there'a always going to be some haters wherever you go, ya' know?

I again finished somewhere in the middle, but I was able score the Adapt of Mars award for best appearance. O.o Wow didn't expect that. I always put alot of time energy and effert into my painting and modelling but I often feel that really I'm just gearing up and someday my creations will really look the way I want them to, but that now ity's just a WIP. I gotta say this award is making me reconsider that concept, and maybe I'm making more progress then I thought initially. Anyways I was stoked to be acknowledged for my energy spent painting and modelling.

So now for just some quick show and tell:

Here's an old Death Wing Chaplin I've had bumpin' around for awhile I don't think I shared here yet.

and also a shot of the rear of Sasquatch Kharn's back so you can see the GS work that went into him to fill out the proportions.

A note to true-scalers the Chaos Lord Kit is actually a bit larger than a standard Marine Termie so If you use it as a basis for a TS marine he'll be a bit bigger then even a 'normal' true scale.

This is a little duel diorama I made, you can really see the huge-ness of Sasquatch Kharn in this:

+Flame-Tank-On+

Yo Tubez,

Just wanted to give a couple quick updates today.

First to go with my renegade guard I've conveted up some Mad Max styled HellHounds. I think the exposd turret gunner just really adds to the pshyco feel of the Hashshashonian 113th.

Conversion made using:

+ the Old Chimera Chassis (actually this was an old Basilisk, more on that another day)
+ Valkyrie Door Gunner w/ Flagellant head
+ Flamestorm cannon from a Land Raider Redeemer
+ and the fuel barrels are these ones from Tamiya (actually score 2 more boxes of these on clearence @ a big box for $1.70)

Next on the offering block is my Chaos Baal Predator for my Blood Smokers Legion of Khorne army. Why, you may ask? Because one flamethrowing tank isn't enough for the Buddy nation, we need >1 to be happy.

Basically its pretty straight forward. I'll give the break-down anywho though eh?

+ The other Flamestorm cannon from the Redeemer Kit
+ and some more fuel barrels from those great 1/35th Tamiya kits

As a side note that little panel on the rear is remoeable and the side doors are magnetized so I can filed this as any Rhino based vehicle pretty much.

As always thanks for looking and hope everyone's well

Cheers,
Hashshashin

+Counts As: How far is too far?+

Hello Tubenz,

This topic has been coming up lately for me on a couple of fronts. I was over at Blood of Kittens the other day, and have been thinking alot about this subject with an upcoming event at a FLGS. Where is the line between 'counts as,' 'Proxy,' and what really is WYSIWYG?

In my humble opinion 'counts as' is a rule that allows people, like myself, the opportunity to feild all kinds of crazy models and have them have game terms and effects. Eligos the Fallen is the perfect example. He is basically WYSIWYG but at the same time he's not WYSIWYG at all.
If you look at the stat line and in game effects I feel that I have modelled all of them quite well. Straken gets a 3+ armour save because he's half terminat...er...cyborg, Eligos, who also gets a three up save because he's the same rules as Straken, gets a 3+ because he's seen wearing power armour. I could go through all the rules but I won't I think I'm getting the point across even though fluff-wise the two 'characters' are vastly different, the model has been created to ensure there's not too much confusion after a brief explanation of what's what and it's basically logical that that model could preform those in-game effects.
Now here is were I think it gets juicy. I am about to play in an 1850pt tournament in this upcoming weekend (no big deal just a FLGS small event, should be fun) and have decided to run my Blood Smokers Legion of Khorne using Blood Angels rules set. Why you might ask? Well for a couple reasons:
1} The actual models are the oldest army I have and it was basically the first army I collected seriously. I have an old skool Rhino, and some 2nd ed World Eaters models plastic and metal. Needless to say I love this army, it has served me well in many variations and throughout many years and game editions. This army has been crazy hard to beat and a paper tiger throughout the course of it's life, but the latest version of the Chaos codex just really punched the army in the nuts. Not that you can't make a good solid list from the new Dex, you can, its just limiting in its options and I must say I'm an options whore.

2} Crazy new options in the Blood Angels book, like the idea of fielding Sanguinary priests who get everyone in the area riled up is awesome and to me gives an opportunity to model-up some cool character doods. The ability to take characters that grant army-wide special effects, unnatural beasts in combat like Mephiston, to me these are cool additions to an army, not to mention Infernus pistols to make up for the lack of anti-tank my standard chaos list has. Again many of these things are in the Chaos Dex (Abbadon as far as uber-chars, and nobodies knockin' Kharne, um he hits on 2's) there just wasn't anything new compared to the last book, and TONS of things removed.
3} The newer Dex's all offer the nice streamlined army lists but also offer new fluff and albeit slight adjustments to the fluff. Also most of the newer books have all had new units to field. I like that, I already have armies I want an excuse to feed my clearly unhealthy addiction to spending money on toys even though I am grown @$$ man. I want excuses to model new characters and vehicles, I want to have to re-interpret what the different units in my army do and are in some cases. Is this big monster thing a greater daemon or Daemon Prince, is that guy a lord or just a champion? Again I think everyone (everyone who is still reading ;) ) gets my drift.

Here's a quick overveiw of my list it may change slightly but this is what I'm working with:

HQ:
Saquatch Kharne (Mephiston) [Pic at top]

Elites:
Priest x3
1=p. weapon
2=p. fist
3= P. fist and jump pack

Troops:
Assault Squad x7 (+1 priest to = 8) In a Rhino and Infernus Pistol
Assault Squad x8 In a Rhino and Infernus Pistol
Assault Squad x7 (+1 Priest w/ P. Fist = 8) In Land Raider and Infernus pistol
Assault Squad x7 (+1 Priest w/ Jump pack and P. Fist) w/ jump packs and Meltagun

Fast Attack:
Baal Pred w/ Flamestorm

Heavy:
Vindicator w/ siege shield

Teeth of Khorne (devastators) x5 w/ 2x Lascannon

Well if you feel like commenting please do, either on my questionable list or on the discusion of 'Counts as' and WYSIWYG.
-Cheers
